Moral harassment, ethics and psychological stress in workplace

Abstract

The moral harassment is a complex phenomenon and a current reality in the working world. To qualify anaction as moral harassment, the harasser’s intention, the endurance and frequency must be investigated. Itis a violence that involves individual and collective ethical principles that may affect the workers’ life quality,leading to physical and psychosomatic illnesses, and work related suffering. This narrative text defines andcharacterizes moral harassment in its relation to ethics, the main results on workers health, and briefly commentsabout international and national legislation on this theme.
